Another Lazy Sunday Afternoon

After the last few weekends where I've been busy both days, I finally have a Sunday with nothing to do. The weather people said there would be heavy down pours today. So far I've seen it rain in the morning, sprinkle in the afternoon and now its just cloudy and gray.

It's the perfect day for sleeping in. But on days like that I can't sleep late. I have all these thoughts of how I am going to spend my day doing nothing. Its not as easy as it sounds. I want to make most of my free time. But do I want to veg is front of the TV and watch stupid shows or turn on a movie? I could get through a good chunk of the book I'm reading. Or should I update the blog and catch up on my web surfing? Or the other stuff I put off doing for "when I have time".

If it was nice and sunny it would have been the perfect time to explore downtown Ayer. Does Ayer even have a downtown you ask? Well, there's only one way to find out. I know there is a train station there, there's also a rumor of a Subway restaurant too! What more could anyone need?

The only exciting thing I did today was make Upma. It was alright. The taste was good, the only thing I didn't like was that the onions were a little crunchy.

Back Again

My only New Year Resolution's was to update my blog at least once a month. As you all know, that has not gone well. As they say, better late than never.

Not much really going on. We sort of have a routine in our apartment. The first couple of months was tough with mom/dad being in India and all of Vipul's interviews. Now things are as normal as they ever will be.

I'm loving the nice weather we've been having. I don't even mind the Monday snow as long as the weekends are nice. In my opinion those are the only days that really count since I don't have to go work then.

Big thing is my company is moving buildings. The new building is still in Littleton. My old commute was 5.1 miles, now its only 3.5 miles. The real exciting thing is brand spanking new and a whole lot bigger then our current facility. The move is going to happen next weekend. I have my doubts about everything being finished in a week. A lot has been done, but its little things like will the network be up and running that worries me. It'll also take time to get used to where the different departments are.

On the family side, everything is well. Vipul will be finding out if/where he got accepted for his residency. That's all I'm saying about that. The thought of moving (anywhere) is not too appealing. Mom/Dad are doing good, but have moments when they show their age. Dee is getting bigger by the week, but still manages to have more energy than me. Diya is starting to act naughty. It's cute, but sometimes I want to pretend she's not my niece. I predict its going to get much worse before it starts getting better, sorry Dee.

A bunch of my friends are getting engaged, engaged, or getting married. Congrats to you all! It's kinda scary. Makes me realize that we all really are getting older no matter how much we avoid it. I just hope I'll be able to attend at least some of the functions.

Well that's it for now. Hopefully, it won't be another 4 months before my next post.

Lastly, for people hoping to hear about free things: McDonald's has been sending out fliers with coupons for free McCafe beverages. It says no purchase necessary. I haven't actually used one yet. Let me know if there's a catch.

“Let’s Refuel America” program

Chrysler is offering new car buyers a card that locks in the price of gasoline and diesel at $2.99 a gallon for three years. The U.S. automaker calls the offer “a gas price protection policy that eliminates the risk of further spikes in fuel prices” and is available at 3,511 U.S. Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealerships through June 2, 2008. Vehicles included in the program range from popular new compacts, crossovers and minivans to full-size diesel-powered pickup trucks, Chrysler said.

Movie Set..

Sometimes after dinner we'll go to the Burlington Mall to walk around. Last week I noticed that they had some Christmas decorations and a tree up. I didn't know if they just hadn't taken them down since last year and I just never noticed or what? It's odd seeing Christmas decorations up, the mall is usually pretty good about keeping up with the holidays.

This week some people at work were talking about the Christmas decorations and fake store fronts. Turns out the Burlington Mall is being used for filming! A new comedy about a mall cop is being filmed there (mostly at nights). The movie doesn't have a name yet and is tentatively scheduled to come out in January 16, 2009. You can go click here for more information.

We went last night to check out what was going on. There are parts of the mall that are very Christmasy. There are signs saying that the mall is being used for production as nights for the next couple of weeks. It's pretty exciting. I'd like to go every night just for a chance to be in the movie ;-)
